The incident took place around 3:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, on Franklin Avenue, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, the female victim was in her home when she was woken up by an unknown male climbing into her window.
The victim screamed and kicked at the subject, who threw her to the ground and prevented her from calling the police, police said.
The man then climbed out of the window and fled in an unknown direction, police said.
He was wearing a gray baseball cap, a black mask and a gray sweatshirt with blue jeans and tan work boots, police said.
The victim suffered minor injuries to her knee.
